AHRC Middle / HS Special Education Speech Therapist SLP

Currently seeking a Speech Therapist for the AHRC Middle / HS located in Dyker Heights.

Role Description :

  • Full Time | Monday-Friday
  • Hours : 8 : 00 A.M-3 : 00 P.M
  • 10 month program with a 30 day summer session

    • Responsibilities include :

  • Assure delivery of speech-language pathology services as per student's IEP and participate in service scheduling.
  • Provide assistance and consultation to Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities and / or Clinical Fellow Therapists at regularly scheduled meetings and as needed.
  • Provide mandated speech related services as per student's IEP.
  • Maintain session notes which reflect activity during individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Assess students annually and provide periodic progress reports and annual reports which include descriptions of student's performance, areas of need and recommendations.
  • Complete IEP for students based on assessment which addresses individual needs in areas of communication and update IEP as needed.
  • Assist in acquisition of assistive technology for students in need of such technology.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and represent student needs in area of communication and feeding.

    Pay : $85,000.00 - $85,224.00 per year

    Position Requirements :

  • Bachelors or Masters in Speech Therapy
  • Must be a New York State Licensed Speech Therapist
  • Experience with students with autism is required
