Position Summary

The Bar Back is responsible for backing up the bartender by restocking products to ensure the bartenders stay fully stocked during events while ensuring all policies and procedures regarding alcohol dispensing are followed. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $19.00 plus tips

About the Venue

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts building began to take shape in 1996 when two projects came together : The Philadelphia Orchestra's ongoing plan to build a new home for itself, and a plan of then-Mayor Edward G. Rendell to provide a much-needed venue for some of Philadelphia's most prominent performing arts companies and for touring presentations. With the generous consent of The Philadelphia Orchestra, which had acquired a property at Broad and Spruce Streets, the two plans were merged under the supervision and management of a new organization, the Regional Performing Arts Center (RPAC).

In 2024, The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Cultural Campus introduced the Ensemble Arts Philly brand name to improve clarity to the audience experience, across our physical spaces and online. This new brand represents a wide variety of genres including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, and family presentations across our three venues : the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater. Also, Ensemble Arts Philly represents the multi-genre audience engagement and educational activity that happens outside of our venues.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for stocking products for the bar including N / A beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and moping the bar, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs. Drafting beer and pouring wine for guest orders, running supplies for bartenders back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils and stirrers.
• Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures, this includes mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter. The 4K TCL Bar and Sky Club are high profile locations frequently visited and shown by our client and must be kept in clean and orderly fashion.
• Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals.
• Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
• Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
