About the Program
The Appliance Upgrade Program (AUP) is a statewide effort to expand access to energy-efficient appliances and support New York’s clean-energy objectives. The program operates under NYSERDA’s Codes & Standards team and relies on strong leadership to ensure smooth operations, effective contractor coordination, and meaningful program outcomes.
Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM-1) will oversee the daily operations and advancement of the Appliance Upgrade Program. This role involves managing a small internal team, coordinating implementation contractors, and working closely with retailers, local governments, and partner organizations. The Project Manager will report to program leadership and play a key role in achieving program goals through operational efficiency and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations and ensure effective execution of the Appliance Upgrade Program (AUP)
Direct and coordinate implementation contractors to meet deliverables and reporting deadlines
Use market data and evaluation insights to refine program strategies and improve outcomes
Collaborate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and partner organizations
Lead or support testing, development, and process improvement initiatives
Develop program documentation, communications, and stakeholder resources
Track, monitor, and report performance against goals and metrics
Ensure compliance with NYSERDA standards and operational best practices
Perform additional tasks that support Codes & Standards team objectives
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs in energy efficiency, utilities, or clean energy
Successful track record managing contractors and coordinating across technical and non-technical teams
Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
High attention to detail and strong ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Asana, Oracle PeopleSoft, and Salesforce
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Salesforce Lightning, including design, UAT, reporting, and dashboards
Familiarity with Salesforce development and data design concepts
Graduate degree or certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean
Passion for advancing New York’s clean-energy and climate goals
