Spectrum Center Schools and Programs , a dynamic organization dedicated to offering hope, is on the lookout for an Area Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our award-winning Special Education team. As the Area Speech Language Pathologist , your role will involve providing high-quality speech therapy services tailored to meet the individual needs of designated K-12 students across multiple Spectrum School locations. This will encompass direct instruction, thorough evaluations, consultations with parents and home school district representatives, writing IEP goals, monitoring students' progress, and collaborating with educational teams to enhance students' communication skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate students to determine speech-language therapy needs and the appropriate services required.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings and student abilities.
- Set collaborative goals with families and educators to encourage communication skill development.
- Monitor student progress through data-driven assessments and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
- Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy to enhance communication abilities.
- Document therapy sessions accurately to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Maintain comprehensive case records and submit documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate openly with families regarding therapy schedules and updates.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and caregivers to integrate therapy goals into everyday routines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide clinical support to program teams.
- Mentor educators and staff to enhance the delivery of therapy plans.
- Conduct intake assessments and contribute to program enhancements.
- Ensure quality and consistency of speech therapy services across locations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest practices in speech-language pathology.
- Travel regularly between assigned Spectrum School locations for clinical support.
- Perform additional tasks as needed by program directors or the Area / Regional VP of Operations.
Qualifications Required :
Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a related field.Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining a speech-language pathology (SLP) credential.Valid CA state driver's license or the ability to obtain one.Experience or knowledge in providing speech therapy support in educational settings.Familiarity with special education services, particularly for students with diverse disabilities.Successful track record in creating effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.Strong relationship-building skills with students, parents, and educators.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in technology relevant to instruction and documentation.Perks and Benefits Include :
