REPORTS TO : WORKERS COMPENSATION SAFETY BUSINESS PARTNER

STATUS : NON EXEMPT

The Workers Compensation Generalist will be responsible for partnering closely with the Workers Compensation Safety Business Partner on Boot Barn’s companywide workers compensation and safety programs. This role will be responsible for maintenance of the safety program and initiatives for all locations including retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate environments. This role is also responsible for submitting, tracking, and managing all workers’ compensation claims filed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining companywide health and safety strategy and programs consistent with industry’s best practices, defining short- and long-term objectives and tactical plans to reach goals.
  • File, review, and resolve Workers Compensation claims with assistance from brokers, carrier, investigator, monitor the partners recovery to achieve medically approved return to work in limited or full duty status.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards by local, state and federal agencies.
  • Partners with the benefits team to ensure applicable workers compensation cases are properly placed on a leave of absence.
  • Facilitate and collaborate with cross-function teams to ensure goals of Boot Barn’s safety and workers compensation programs are met.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
  • Has knowledge and understanding in state and Federal leave laws

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a Workers Compensation and Safety oversight role in a corporate environment; retail highly preferred
  • Has knowledge and understanding in state and Federal leave laws
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Environmental Health and Safety or related field
  • Ability to travel to warehouse and store locations as needed
  • Experience in Word, Excel, ADP, and other applicable databases as helpful

  • PAY RANGE : $26.45 - $31.25 / hr
