This position will be a key member of the clinical research team, responsible for recruitment, screening, verifying eligibility, obtaining informed consent, collecting and processing clinical samples, and collecting, managing and entering clinical data into a variety of systems while ensuring timely data entry per study requirements. The CRC I will demonstrate competence in clinical research skills, phlebotomy, successful patient interactions, problem-solving, and priority setting.

This position, which will be located at the Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix, is currently undergoing rapid growth and the selected individual will be an important driver of this change.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research Coordination : Coordinate scheduling and preparing for research visits, interview and evaluate potential participants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements, instruct participants concerning protocol responsibilities and obtain consent signature. Create and file adequate source documentation, maintain accurate and timely data reporting, and perform quality checks.
  • Recruitment and Enrollment : the primary responsibility in the first year will be to coordinate participant recruitment and enrollment in studies and other related research projects following the IRB-approved study protocol. Research Coordinators will utilize multiple modalities for participant recruitment including telephone calls, emails, and community outreach. Potential participants will be walked through a screening process, and eligibility confirmed. Research Coordinators are responsible for ensuring informed consent and compliant documentation of these research activities.
  • Data Coordination : Performs scientific and clinical data collection, through patient interaction and electronic health record review. Maintains detailed records of studies conducted, organizes data, prepares data for computer input into a variety of internal and external systems, creates and files adequate source documentation, ensures timely data reporting,

and performs quality checks.

  • Compliance : All members of the study team are responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations for human subject research, University policies, and sponsor expectations.
  • Education : All members of the study team are responsible for continuing education relevant to their role. This includes maintaining current human subject research training, attending relevant educational seminars, and professional development in clinical research operations.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study which can include public health or other science and health / wellness related programs.
  • Past experience as a phlebotomist and / or medical assistant.
  • Past clinical research and / or patient experience.
