PCU RN Job Details – North Carolina Nursing Jobs

Location : Shelby, NC 28150

Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 32 beds

Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract (Start : 09 / 08 / 2025 – End : 12 / 06 / 2025)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00), 36 hours per week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570-$1680

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage : 75% of holidays during contract

Scrub Color : Navy

Parking : Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse)

Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Proficient in tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management

Willingness to float within the region and scope of practice as needed

Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to individuals with CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory issues, diabetes, kidney conditions, and substance withdrawal

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and perform wound care and dressing changes

Administer blood products and manage central lines and chest tubes

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV / VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists

Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing clinical training

Float to other nursing units or healthcare facilities within the region as required

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
