Location : Wauwatosa, WI (Fleet location on Watertown Plank Rd.)

Work Arrangement : 100% Onsite

Contract Duration : Through 12 / 31 / 2026, renewable annually

The Desktop Support Technician serves as the first point of contact for IT-related support, providing Tier 1 assistance for technical issues related to installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading PC hardware and related equipment. This role ensures optimal workstation performance across hardware, software, printing, connectivity, mobile technology, and user setup. A key responsibility is refreshing PCs as part of the asset lifecycle program while delivering a high-quality end-user computing experience for Milwaukee County employees, contractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Provide daily support for PC hardware / software, including Windows 10 and Office 365.

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and standard images.

Troubleshoot and maintain printers and peripheral devices.

Assist with mobile device troubleshooting.

Document and track incidents and requests in the ticketing system.

Set clear client expectations and adhere to SLAs.

Prioritize and escalate issues based on business impact.

Recommend improvements for end-user support and efficiency.

Maintain knowledge of hardware standards and emerging technologies.

Participate in special projects and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

6 months to 5 years of experience in :

Desktop support

Deploying devices

On-the-fly device repairs

Nice-to-Have Skills

Workstation, printer, and peripheral maintenance

General understanding of client / server environments

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD

Solid understanding of Microsoft products (Windows OS, Office Suite)

Familiarity with SCCM imaging software

Preferred Certification : CompTIA A+

Codeworks discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $15 and $20. This range is subject to change based on job-related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
