Responsibilities Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit at a Level I trauma, teaching hospital Patient ratio is 1 : 2 in a high-volume L&D unit Responsibilities include circulating and fetal heart monitoring, as well as meconium deliveries and postpartum / baby nurse duties Procedures performed include cerclage, version, C-section, PPTL, external and internal fetal monitoring, amniotomy, medically assisted deliveries, C-hysterectomy, neonatal palliative care, use of nitrous, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia management Floating within scope is required to antepartum and postpartum units Shifts are night, typically 4x12 (19 : 00–07 : 30), with required on-call hours (12–24 hours per 4 weeks depending on schedule) Charting is done in Cerner EMR system Purple scrubs are provided COVID vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions available Duties include managing laboring patients, supporting delivery and postpartum mother—baby care, assisting with specialty obstetric procedures, and responding to OB emergencies No specific weekend requirements; schedule flexibility may be needed and weekends are not guaranteed off Module training is completed during orientation, with up to 4 hours paid RTO greater than 7 days requires approval, and no RTO may be taken during the first or last 7 days of the contract Holiday time off is limited to one holiday bundle; additional requests require approval First-time travelers are accepted for this position Drug screening is required within 30 days of start Parking is free for staff Requirements Active NM or compact RN license may be pending at time of consideration Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a large Labor & Delivery facility required Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required Experience required with circulating, fetal heart monitoring, postpartum care, meconium deliveries, and baby nurse duties Must have experience with a broad range of OB procedures including cesarean delivery and related emergencies Cerner experience preferred Personal transportation required; valid non-local driver’s license or written transportation plan needed No previous permanent employment with the facility within the past 12 months Applicants must live more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-610434.
