Pay : $165000 per year - $200000 per year

Summary : The Sr. Director of HR Operations and Employee Relations at American Food & Vending is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing HR initiatives that foster a high-performance, compliant, and inclusive workplace. This role oversees employee and labor relations, HR policy development, compliance, unions, and organizational culture across a multi-state workforce. The Sr. Director partners closely with executive leadership to align HR strategies with business goals and ensure positive employee experience. This role requires full-time, on-site presence at the corporate headquarters located in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the development and implementation of employee relations strategies that support a respectful, compliant, and engaging work environment.
  • Serve as the primary advisor on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across all business units.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align HR initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Serve as the company liaison in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with multiple unions across various states, ensuring consistent and effective labor practices.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to HR business partners and field HR teams.
  • Lead change management efforts and support organizational development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee internal audits, policy updates, and training related to HR compliance.
  • Manage risk mitigation strategies related to employment practices.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Support performance management processes and employee engagement programs.
  • Monitor workforce trends and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Analyze HR metrics and employee feedback to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for executive leadership.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and build trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in multi-site or national operations is preferred.
