Job Title: Part-Time STEM Educator
General Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Director of Educational Development, you will design and lead engaging STEM learning sessions that inspire students to explore technology and innovation.
Major Duties:
- Collaborate regularly with the Director of Educational Development to align on program goals.
- Design and facilitate interactive learning sessions focused on STEM topics.
- Guide students in building skills in computer science, coding, and digital arts.
- Ensure open and consistent communication with the Director of Educational Development.
- Demonstrate positive academic and social behaviors to serve as a model for students.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the educational mission.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds and different skill sets.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates responsibility, a commitment to help others, and adaptability.
- Experienced in teaching coding languages such as Scratch, Blockly, Swift, and Python.
- Proficient in instructing robotics using coding languages.
- Skilled in teaching digital video editing techniques for creating promotional content.
- Adept at collecting and analyzing data to inform future instruction.
- Ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Competent in instructing students of varying experience levels and interests in multiple programs.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, along with teaching or tutoring experience and extensive knowledge in computer science and coding.
