Junior Accountant
The Junior Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and procedures to analyze financial information; prepare accurate and timely financial reports and trial balances; ensure appropriate accounting control procedures; and assist in the preparation of our consolidated financial statements.
The responsibilities of this position include :
- Assist with the preparation of certain external regulatory filings and reporting
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of account coding
- Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger and sub-ledger accounts
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements which would include income and balance sheets used for internal and external reporting purposes
- Respond to financial inquiries; provide requested information for use in effective management of the business and / or meeting external reporting needs
- Provide and effectively communicate financial information for internal and external audit
- Validate work product is accurate
- Provide feedback, including sharing best practices, to team members
- Participate on cross-functional teams as required
The requirements of this position include :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting requiredNewly graduated to 2 years of experience in Accounting requiredAnalytical and organizational skills needed with ability to perform required analysis quickly and accurately under tight deadlines, communicate requirements effectively, and produce detailed and accurate presentationsStrong experience using ExcelAbility to work independently, well organized, self-motivated in a fast paced environmentConsumer package goods industry experience a plusExperience in a CPG manufacturing environment a plusKnowledge of ERP systems (SAP) a plusExcellent organizational abilityProblem solvingEffective communication
