Hello there! I'm Haleigh Walden, and I am honored to serve as the Library Media Specialist at Horizon Elementary! The library has always been my favorite place in school! Before transitioning into this role, I dedicated eight years to teaching. I spent three years teaching second grade and five years teaching fourth grade. I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University—War Eagle! I I furthered my studies at the University of West Alabama, obtaining a master's degree in Library Media.

My goal is to foster a love for reading in every student! I am dedicated to helping students find books that captivate their imaginations. I am committed to teaching crucial skills such as information literacy, proper citation techniques, and digital citizenship. I like to integrate technology into my lessons to inspire curiosity and exploration. When I'm not at Horizon, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, and church community.
