Get to Know Your Team : Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room / Fast Track Unit. ResponsibilitiesThe Certified Surgical Technician will be responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks to facilitate the care of the patient. This position delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect. The Technician works as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support departmental objectives.Prepares for the pre-assigned cases using the physician's preference.Setting up the operating room prior to surgery.Opens supplies / instruments utilizing aseptic technique.Pass instruments to surgeons during surgery.Follows established policies and procedures as they relate to counting of sponges, instruments, etc.Initiates corrective action when counts are incorrect.Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and communicate effectively with the team to ensure quality of patient care.Perform any and all other duties assigned. QualificationsJob Requirements : Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology.Surgical Technician Certification.Preferred Job Requirements : One (1) year of surgical scrub experience. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
