General Summary
The Mortgage Processing Manager oversees the daily operations of the mortgage processing department while managing a personal pipeline of loans. This role provides leadership, coaching, and support to the team of loan processors to ensure all loans originated by our loan officers are organized, accurate, and completed in a timely manner. The Manager is responsible for verifying that all loan documentation is complete, compliant, and aligned with internal standards and regulatory requirements. This position will also be responsible for monitoring department workflow, upholding performance and quality standards, and fostering strong collaboration among processors, loan officers, underwriters, and third-party partners. Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Leads, coaches, and mentors the mortgage processing team to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all processing functions.
- Manages the department’s overall pipeline while maintaining a personal pipeline of assigned loans.
- Reviews and monitors pipeline reports to ensure all loans progress within established timelines and service level expectations.
- Conducts quality control reviews of loan files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to submission to underwriting.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for complex or challenging loan files, assisting processors in resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Oversees and coordinates third-party vendor services, including appraisals, title work, automated underwriting, and insurance coverage.
- Strengthens communication and collaboration across departments (loan officers, underwriters, and closers) to streamline processing and prevent delays.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and automations to optimize the borrower and employee experience..
- Tracks department productivity, accuracy, and service metrics; provides ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and formal evaluations to team members.
- Supports business growth by ensuring excellent service levels and a seamless borrower experience throughout the loan process.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc
- Participates in departmental meetings and process improvement initiatives; recommend and implement enhancements to systems or procedures as needed.
- Maintains department preparedness for contingency operations, including documentation and testing of alternate-site processing capabilities.
- Supports and participates in community activities and initiatives.
- Other duties necessary to meet business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of mortgage processing experience, including prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.Strong understanding of residential mortgage lending, secondary market guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards.Proven leadership and people-management skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and task prioritization in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound, data-informed decisions.Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration across departments.Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass), Microsoft Office Suite, and other related technology.Demonstrated adaptability and forward-thinking approach to evolving technology, systems, and regulations.Aligned with the company’s Code of Ethics and values.Full-Time Benefits :
