Position Overview
The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and other regulatory standards. This role aims to reduce work-related incidents and promote a culture of safety across all heavy civil operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety programs and training for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to enforce safety protocols on construction sites.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices in safety management, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and CALTRANS standards.
- Lead safety meetings and training sessions to educate employees on safety practices and incident reporting procedures.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to improve safety strategies and achieve targets.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in safety management within the heavy civil construction industry.In-depth knowledge and experience with OSHA, CALTRANS, and MSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports.Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively train and motivate employees.Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential is preferred.Compensation : $100,000 - $130,000
