Overview

Autonomous Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role at Amerit Fleet Solutions is aimed at repairing, maintaining, and retrofitting our fleet of Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV / AV). The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with a growth mindset who wants to advance in the Autonomous Vehicle Industry.

Compensation and Schedule

Compensation : Competitive hourly pay; paid weekly, every Friday; $40-48 / hr based on experience
Shift : Tuesday - Saturday 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm

Job Duties

Assist technician team with service and repair of electrical, mechanical, and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and equipment

Perform software and firmware updates

Follow processes and document potential improvements and issues

Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues

Create repair orders, document work performed, diagnosis, procedures, and parts required

Create issue tickets with engineering teams and follow up on open issues

Work with safety as a top priority

Participate in continuing education and training

Assist with fleet-wide hardware and software retrofits

Qualifications

4 - 8 years of experience working on cars (brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair and diagnosis, software / firmware updates, diagnosing nuanced mechanical, electrical, and A / C systems; complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement)

Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, automotive shop equipment

Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software components and understanding of their interactions

Strong computer skills and aptitude for new technology

Excellent communication skills; learning mindset; safety and quality focus

Ability to give and receive clear verbal and written directives

Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds

Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high attention to detail

A plus : experience with sensors, calibration, autonomous automotive field

A plus : dealership training and automotive experience

A plus : experience with Linux, Java, Python, C++, Jira, Confluence, G-Suite, and Slack

A plus : experience diagnosing and repairing electric / hybrid vehicles; ASE certifications

Working Conditions

Exposure to traffic, dust, diesel fumes, and noise

Exposure to chemicals and irritants

Access to all areas of equipment / vehicles to perform maintenance

Ability to move heavy objects and work outside in various weather conditions
