SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of a Pathologist and reporting to the Anatomical Pathology Manager, independently performs a variety of tasks related to grossing and processing surgical pathology biopsy and simple specimens.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

Must qualify as high complexity testing personnel under CLIA.

A minimum of an associate’s degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology; bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of the basic sciences, especially anatomy, and knowledge of surgical pathology and medical terminology.

SKILLS

Must possess excellent dissection technical skills. Must be proficient in the use of laboratory and surgical instruments and equipment. Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with pathologists / physicians, management, and coworkers.

The hourly range for this role is $34.58 to $51.87 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Atrius Health complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
