Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a talented Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). The CHGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.

Primary Responsibilities.

• Provide technical leadership for delivering, maintaining, and improving ground support equipment, tooling, and assembly fixtures.
• Design and create drawings for production tooling and supporting equipment.
• Revise current designs or create new designs to facilitate process improvements.
• Interface with operations team to understand roadblocks impeding production flow.
• Create bills of materials and work with procurement to order hardware for ground support equipment.
• Disposition non-conformances of ground support equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure work instructions accurately depict processes for utilizing ground support equipment.
• Play a key role in engineering efforts to map the process flow and optimize manufacturing steps.
• Present improvement opportunities to the Risk and Opportunity (RIO) Board.

Pay Range : Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
