Job description

The Children’s Advocacy Center of SW Florida (CAC) is a busy non-profit agency located in Fort Myers serving Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties. At CAC, we offer abuse determination services for children as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education and prevention programs.

CAC is seeking a qualified full time Intake Coordinator in the Child Protection Team. This position coordinates services for children and their families.  Candidate must work as part of a multidisciplinary team to schedule timely assessment activities for alleged child victims.

General Responsibilities (full job description will be provided upon interview) :

  • Receives referrals during business hours from the Department of Children and Families, Law Enforcement and other referral sources.
  • Obtains all necessary information and completes intake form.
  • Assigns cases in a timely manner to the case coordinator, according to procedure, on a rotating basis taking into consideration availability, caseload, etc.
  • Keeps accurate documentation of all referrals received which includes updating a referral log.
  • Schedules medical exams, interviews and other appointments using Microsoft Office Outlook and SharePoint calendars.
  • Notifies Case Coordinator, appropriate agencies and families of scheduled appointments.
  • Data entry.

Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree preferred, or a combination of education and work experience with a preference in Public Health, Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Nursing, Psychology or Human Services Related Field with at least one year experience Working with children and families.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate computers with proficiency.
