Overview
Supervisor - Facilities & Maintenance at American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is a leadership role at the Phoenix Distribution Center. You will establish and maintain a best-in-class maintenance operation for a brand new 520,000 square feet facility. You will lead and coach a team of maintenance technicians to ensure all equipment, including conveyors, racking and material handling systems, operates at peak performance. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a maintenance culture that supports processing 25 million units weekly across two daylight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all facility equipment including conveyor systems, yard tractors and material handling equipment to maximize operational uptime and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Proactively inspect the facility to identify and address potential problems, ensuring all systems are in a constant state of readiness.
- Partner with operations and planning teams to develop and execute weekly maintenance schedules that support fulfillment goals and prevent service interruptions.
- Build, coach and manage a high-performing maintenance team, fostering an environment of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement structured training programs for your team to build expertise in key areas such as PLC controls, forklift repair and electrical systems.
- Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, work orders and equipment inventory in the MVP Plant system, ensuring compliance with established SOPs.
- Manage and enforce company policies and safety standards, actively participating in safety program development and committees.
- Coordinate on-site contractor work, ensuring projects are completed without disrupting operations and align with security protocols.
- Provide input into the development of the maintenance budget and monitor spending to ensure cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment.A minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, with a strong understanding of material handling equipment and operations.Proven ability to coach, train, and develop a team to achieve performance goals.Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance programs and working knowledge of PLC controls.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence peers and senior leadership.Proficiency in Google Suite and a strong commitment to accurate record-keeping and reporting.Pay and Benefits
Base pay range : $70,000.00 / yr - $85,000.00 / yr. Actual starting pay is determined by factors including but not limited to relevant experience and location.Subject to eligibility requirements, associates may receive health care benefits (medical, vision, dental); wellness benefits; 401(k) retirement benefits; life and disability insurance; employee stock purchase program; paid time off; paid sick leave; and parental leave and benefits.
