Overview
Systems Engineer role within the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team in the Integration, Test and Evaluation (IT&E) directorate. You will develop and maintain MBSE architecture models to support current and future Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) capabilities, contribute to mechanical design solutions, configuration management, and the drawing release process.

Salary : $65.00 USD Hourly - $78.00 USD Hourly
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain SysML-based MBSE models for RF and IR systems using Cameo and related tools.
- Develop architectural views including IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, and Functional Diagrams to support system design.
- Collaborate with HWIL engineers and product owners to ensure MBSE models reflect evolving program requirements.
- Independently create mechanical design solutions using CAD tools (e.g., Creo, I-DEAS), including solid models and detailed drawings.
- Review and decompose system requirements into executable architectures and detailed designs.
- Coordinate with configuration management and manufacturing teams to meet program milestones.
- Release accurate, affordable, and producible engineering designs that support program goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience in MBSE using Cameo and SysML-based modeling.5+ years of experience defining system functionality, including state diagrams and operational modes.Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo or I-DEAS.Experience with requirements tracking tools (e.g., DOORs, Cameo).Strong understanding of Open System Architecture (OSA) principles.Demonstrated ability to synthesize and implement system architectures across HWIL systems.Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis.Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with cross-functional teams to derive and decompose complex requirements.Exposure to digital engineering environments including MBSE and digital twin technologies.Background in system-of-systems architecture and formal verification processes.Familiarity with industry standards and federal regulations (ANSI, OSHA, AWS).Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.Note : This description reflects the primary duties and qualifications for the role and is intended to be representative of the responsibilities.
