BACKGROUND : The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work in over 40 countries and 28 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The IRC in Tallahassee office was established in 2015 and has resettled over 1,500 refugees from 50 countries into Tallahassee, Florida.
SCOPE OF YOUTH MENTORSHIP INTERN : The Youth Mentorship Intern will support refugee and immigrant youth enrolled in the CRS program by providing Mentorship, encouragement, and guidance to help them adapt to life in the United States, set educational and career goals, and build confidence and independence. The Intern will work closely with CRS Caseworkers and Employment specialists, and community partners to coordinate and implement activities tailored to youth development. The hours for this position are flexible; however, it will primarily be between 9AM and 5PM on weekdays, with occasional weekend activities. Please note that all internship positions are unpaid. Accepting Tallahassee-based candidates only.
