WalkerHughes's technology team is a tight-knit group of humble, hungry, hardworking, and curious problem solvers. We are looking for a data engineer to join our team and help us innovate solutions for some of the most interesting issues in the insurance industry.

The two main problems we are out to solve :

  • WalkerHughes team members’ potential is diminished by the barriers of repetitive tasks, duplicate entry, and data processing. We believe we can use technology to help support our team members to better connect with their teammates, clients, and communities, ultimately increasing their ability to succeed.
  • Insurance customers typically sacrifice convenience to shop locally. We believe there is a better way to provide our clients with the ease of use they expect while still allowing them to support their local communities.

Your Role :

  • Thoroughly understanding the data structures and schemas across many industry-related software to facilitate migrations into our internal resources.
  • Manage and built ETL pipeline from external API’s
  • Programmatic data normalization, anomaly detections, and cleansing of new and existing data
  • Maintain data warehouses and architecture for reporting
  • Your Skills & Experience :

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Snowflake or Databricks
  • Solid working knowledge of ETL (ELT), data modeling, quality, and normalization
  • Experience in Python / other modern programming languages with advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with popular data analytics Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
  • Experience in reading from and posting to APIs
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau or similar visualization software
  • Passionate and curious about programming with a desire to improve your skills and knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 2-4 years experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or similar role.
