• Position Overview :
• We are seeking skilled Respiratory Therapists to join our dedicated healthcare team. This position offers two shift options : 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM (Night Shift) and 12 : 00 PM to 12 : 00 AM (Midday to Midnight Shift). The Respiratory Therapist will provide high-quality patient care, engaging in intensive respiratory care, and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed, while adhering to the scope of professional practice with minimal supervision.
• Key Responsibilities :
• Evaluate patients and develop effective treatment plans.- Educate patients on the purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment, providing comprehensive discharge education.- Administer physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, both invasive and non-invasive, and other respiratory devices such as oxygen and aerosol systems.- Conduct chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).- Monitor oxygen saturation and capnography per established policies.- Review patient chest x-rays and recommend further evaluations if needed.- Perform 12-Lead EKGs and recognize basic arrhythmias.- Execute pulmonary function studies as per policies, including NIF and VC testing.- Assist with respiratory care-related procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube placement, and more, while adhering to proper policies.- Manage chest drainage using PleurX catheters or similar devices where applicable.- Perform tracheostomy care and manage endotracheal tubes both emergently and non-emergently.- Execute arterial punctures and evaluate ventilation efficiency by monitoring and documenting results.- Ensure compliance with laboratory testing policies, including specimen handling and quality controls for moderate complexity labs.- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with BLS and ACLS guidelines.- Maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation across different types of equipment, ensuring proper setup and self-testing.- Document all relevant treatment details and patient responses in respiratory therapy and patient records.- Communicate effectively with attending physicians and pulmonary specialists regarding the efficacy of therapies.- Maintain accurate documentation for respiratory therapy billing, ensuring data entry and correction of errors as needed.- Execute other duties as assigned by management.
