Talascend is currently seeking a PLC Controls Engineer II for a contract opportunity with our client in Mason, Ohio .
Overview
As a PLC Controls Engineer II, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning
- Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams
- Help develop technical documentation (QA / QC, test plans)
- Participate in BUAT / UAT / FAT testing and post-installation support
- Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fieldUp to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling projectsRequirements
Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms)Interest or experience in post and parcel operations is a plusUS Citizen or US PersonWillingness to travel extensively and work in dynamic environmentsStrong communication and documentation skillsEagerness to learn and contribute to cross-functional teamsPreferred Requirements

Extensive travel required (~90%). When not traveling, work is onsite in Mason, OH. 40-60 hours / week depending on project phase.
