Traffic Operations Assistant Engineer

Iteris is excited to announce an opportunity for a Traffic Operations Assistant Engineer . This position focuses on a variety of technical activities that support traffic operations and data collection projects. As a key team member, you will assist in analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to implement traffic signal retiming improvements. This role thrives on collaboration, requiring regular interaction with public agencies and consultants.

Please note that while this position is remote within the state of Virginia, it necessitates extensive travel to the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads areas, exceeding 50% of the time.

Your Responsibilities :

• Follow established standards and procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist in the collection, analysis, assessment, and interpretation of data related to traffic signal retiming projects, from data collection through to project reporting.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, including the preparation of performance measurement tools and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with local agencies to support the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems.
• Provide technical support for our TSM&O performance monitoring platforms.
• Address related concerns effectively regarding traffic signal operations.
• Prepare technical reports and professional correspondence.
• Engage in local fieldwork through extensive travel.

What You Need to Succeed :

Iteris anticipates a salary range of $71,100 to $79,200 for this role, with actual compensation varying based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
