Role Overview

The Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) role at Pacific Lake is designed for a highly motivated, intellectually curious individual who aspires to pursue an entrepreneurial path in the future whether through launching a company, joining a leadership team, or pursuing a search fund after the program. This two-year opportunity provides a unique window into how exceptional CEOs and leadership teams grow small to mid-sized businesses. As an EIR, you'll work directly with Pacific Lake's Value Creation Team, contributing to the development of programs, playbooks, and content that support our portfolio CEOs. Over time, you'll take on deep-dive projects with select portfolio companies to help drive meaningful value creation. In your first year, you'll focus on developing internal programs, frameworks, and content that enable Pacific Lake's entrepreneurs to scale successfully. In your second year, you'll have the opportunity to embed with portfolio companies on an as-needed, project basis tackling strategic and operational priorities that align with your skill set and the company's needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Value Creation Team to identify opportunities to support portfolio companies on an as-needed basis.
• Lead or contribute to deep-dive projects (typically in your second year) focused on high-impact topics such as growth strategy, organizational design, process improvement, or talent initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for CEOs and leadership teams, helping scope and implement critical initiatives while developing tools and best practices that can be shared across the Pacific Lake portfolio.
• Collaborate with Pacific Lake's partners and operators to design and launch new programs, frameworks, and resources that strengthen leadership and execution across our CEO and operator community.
• Develop and refine playbooks, case studies, and internal tools that capture and scale best practices across the Pacific Lake network.
• Support firm-wide events such as the CEO Summit, leadership offsites, and functional roundtables by creating content, facilitating sessions, and distilling key insights.
• Learn from Pacific Lake's experienced team of operators, coaches, and advisors about what drives success in entrepreneurial leadership.
• Gain exposure to diverse industries and business models through portfolio work and firm-wide learning sessions.
• Develop your own entrepreneurial perspective and long-term plan for company leadership following the two-year program.
