Job Overview The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking to fill an Instructor position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. This appointment is expected to be at the rank of Instructor on the research track; however, appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in physics, computer science, biomedical engineering or closely related disciplines and have completed 2-3 years of postdoctoral training. Successful candidates will conduct medical imaging analysis, specifically related to the use of artificial intelligence and deep learning as it pertains to medical imaging. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as personal attributes of initiative, problem-solving and teamwork. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
