Meal Delivery Driver
Part-time - 26.25 Hours Per Week / 52 Weeks Per Year
Monday - Friday : 9 : 15am - 2 : 30pm

JOB SUMMARY :
Works as a team member of the food distribution component by ensuring prepared food reaches its final destination timely, accurately and according to policy. Acts as the daily point of contact with home delivered clients during meal drop offs. Carries out duties in accordance with Agency policies and program regulations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Verifies that the proper amount of meals have been provided for distribution according to prepared lists.
- Places cold meal trays in proper chilling equipment (refrigerated vehicle or coolers with ice packs).
- Places hot food containers in proper heating equipment (heated vehicle or Volrath containers).
- Loads food into delivery vehicle.
- Insures proper temperatures of hot and cold foods maintained throughout the entire distribution period.
- Transports prepared foods and supplies to drop off points, congregate nutrition sites and homebound clients.
- Trains volunteers on loading vans and delivering food.
- Assists with monitoring volunteer workers during delivery; reports concerns to supervisor.
- Follows dress and sanitation codes.
- Reports any client related occurrences, incidents or concerns to appropriate Agency staff immediately; logs information reported on driver log; completes Agency incident report if applicable.
- Completes Agency Vehicle Pre and Post Trip Inspection Form daily; informs Operations Leader of any concerns with vehicle maintenance or interior / exterior of vehicle.
- Maintains gas records, van records and other reports as required.
- Maintains internal and external cleanliness of delivery vehicle.
- Assists with scheduling routine and non-routine vehicle maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as needed and assists with occasional special events as requested.
- Works within policies, procedures and program regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Must have knowledge of food service regulations including NYS Sanitation Codes.Must be able to apply the fundamentals of nutrition as they apply to the population of the program.Must maintain confidentiality with regard to program and client information.Must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to relate well with all ages.Must work well in a team setting and be cooperative.Must display good judgment, integrity and tact.Must be able to regularly lift in excess of 35 lbs.Must be flexible with duties and work schedule.Must be organized.Must have a valid NYS Driver's License with driving record within Agency policy; must maintain OCO Driving Certification for Agency and personal vehicles.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
