Become a Quality Control Inspector, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work in our Underground Civil Construction & Inspection Division within Southern California Edison’s T&D Organizational Unit. You will inspect the installation of conduit, structures, and related components for compliance with Edison, State, County, and Local standards and administer contracts at the field level within any Districts in the Metro East Region. This position’s primary area of responsibility will be the Covina District. As a Quality Control Inspector, Senior Specialist, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities

    \n
  • Dispatches field crews, troubleshooters and testers engaged in the construction, maintenance and emergency restoration of energy distribution facilities and customer service facilities; assigns work to SCE’s contractors, reviews contractor daily reports for accuracy, and resolves issues and approves changes; monitors assigned contract crews for safe, productive and quality work practices.

  • Ensures that the services provided to the customer meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Creates and delivers reports on all ongoing construction, quality of work, and scheduled maintenance. Documents the location of installed facilities on as-built drawings and prepares required supporting documents in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • \n
  • Coordinates changes to projects in accordance with contract documents and/or department policies and procedures with both internal and external customers.
  • \n
  • Tasks projects collaboratively with contractors and provides technical support to Local and Tech Planning. Interfaces with internal personnel and outside agencies, making decisions in the field which may impact the efficiency of field crews and work order closings.

  • Reviews, authorizes, validates and tracks assigned work scopes and scope changes at the field level.
  • \n
  • Performs contractor field safety assessments. Creates and maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
  • \n
  • Ensures warranty corrections are completed and inspects work for safety and quality.
  • \n
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

    \n
  • Five or more years of experience in quality control and inspection.
  • \n
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.
  • \n
\n



Preferred Qualifications


    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • \n
  • Experience using Bluebeam or a similar design review software.
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • \n
  • Experience with Ariba or similar procurement and sourcing systems.
  • \n
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating project performance, including progress tracking, resource coordination, and status reporting.
  • \n
  • Experience performing field inspections, providing technical support, identifying compliance issues, and recommending corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Experience coordinating activities between internal teams and contractors, including assigning work, monitoring projects, and reviewing field documentation (e.g., daily reports).
  • \n
  • Two or more years of experience managing multiple tasks with conflicting schedules and limited timelines.
  • \n
  • Experience documenting installed facilities locations on as-built drawings and preparing supporting documentation.
  • \n
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • \n
  • Experience with utility underground construction practices, specifications and requirements, including the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, GO128 and related industry standards.
  • \n
  • Ability to present technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • \n
  • Experience managing risks and safety appropriately and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • \n

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
