- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) / Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Must-Have :
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program and completion of required specialty education
- Job Description :
- Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
- Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to a variety of patient populations.
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
- Check patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, and blood pressure.
- Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
- Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and / or specialized procedures including preparing the patient, assisting in the examination, and preparing and handling specialized instruments or equipment.
- Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
- Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
- Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departure time when the patient is released.
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform physical exams and health histories.
- Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
- Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions.
- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly respond in emergency situations, seek assistance from medical doctors, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans / actions, for teaching / education to benefit the patient / family and organization.
- Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
- Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
- Receive notification two weeks prior to reassignment within a 40-mile commuting radius of the assigned location.
- Work schedules provided 30 calendar days in advance with flexibility in hours as mission dictates.
- Scheduled absences due to vacation and training must be identified 60 calendar days in advance.
- Report unscheduled absences or illness prior to the beginning of the shift.
