Connected Healthcare Solutions, LLC is providing recruitment support and is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is responsible for overseeing all financial and revenue cycle departments of the hospital. The CFO works closely with the CEO and organizational leadership to develop and implement financial and revenue cycle strategies that support the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
Education and Experience :
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field. Master’s Degree preferred
- Five (5) years accounting experience in healthcare.
- Proven leadership and team building skills including demonstrated success in management and supervision of Finance and Accounting functions.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, analytical, financial, problem solving and communication skills.
- Experience in Critical Access Hospital, Non-Profit or other Healthcare accounting preferred.
Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Registration :
Preferred : Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Preferred : Rural Hospital CFO Certification from NRHA.Preferred : HFMA-F (Fellow) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s goals and objectives.Supervise all financial personnel, and oversee all financial aspects of the hospital, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Oversee all revenue cycle functions of the hospital, including patient accounts, billing, coding, health information management, payer contracting, price transparency, and collections.Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.Provide financial analysis and guidance to the CEO, other executives, and the Hospital Board.Development and analysis of financial and statistical data while working with the CEO in developing, implementing, and monitoring strategic initiatives that are competitive and cost effective.Ensure preparation and maintenance of financial reports in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards for governmental Critical Access Hospitals. Regularly review reports with the CEO and the Board.Responsible for the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, including required amendments.Monitor and assist with monthly and annual general ledger entries and accounts receivable closings.Assure timely and accurate reporting of quarterly Federal Tax Return 941, State L1, unemployment quarterly report, Annual 1099’s and 1096, annual state and federal tax reports and W2’s.Collaborate with the CEO and other executives in identifying and evaluating new service line and funding opportunities.Monitor departmental expenses to ensure operations fall within established budgetary constraints.Lead strategic pricing initiatives.Manage the organization’s cash flow and liquidity.Review with the CEO financial contract negotiations.Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place and adjust as necessary.Ensure development and compliance with all policies, procedures and joint commission standards for the all financial departments.Timely reporting of all information utilized in board and committee documents including monthly financial, statistic, cash and Physician revenue reports. Attend and report financial information at Board meetings.Responsible for the development of accounting, internal control policies and systems, and addressing related policy / system issues.Responsible for the control of the facility’s cash and investment management activities.Lead the annual cost report preparation to ensure accuracy and compliance with Medicare / Medicaid rules.Lead the year-end financial statement audit and other external audits.Stay informed of ever-changing financial Governmental regulations and dissemination of information to appropriate hospital departments.Maintains current knowledge and expertise through participation in continuing education.Exhibits a high level of professionalism, courtesy and respect to employees, patients, family members, contractors, visitors, and external agencies at all times.Performs personnel functions for financial departments to include interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions and terminations within Hospital policies and procedures.Responds to concerns / complaints received regarding financial matters.The duties listed are general in nature and are examples of the duties and responsibilities performed and are not meant to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
