Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Dept

Work location : Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours : PRN, Requires at least 1 shift per 6 week schedule, 7 : 00 am – 7 : 00 pm

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

Fast paced 23 bed Observation Unit with an average patient stay of 24-48 hours, primarily serves patients with chest pain / rule out, MI, COPD, Dehydration, Syncope, UTI, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, allergic reaction and cellulitis among others.

Here’s What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required

BSN preferred

One-year experience as a clinical nurse in acute care setting required

One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred

RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra / interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

ACLS within 90 days of hire required

CPI within 90 days of hire required

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety / infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and / or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
