Job Title : Parts Breakdown

Job Description

This role involves the removal of cut parts from large sheets of steel, aluminum, and other metals. The job is repetitive and requires standing for extended periods. When not engaged in this task, employees will perform various duties throughout the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Complete basic, routine tasks following detailed instructions.
  • Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming materials, load trucks and customer vehicles, and help maintain warehouse upkeep.
  • Receive and place / return items into stock inventory locations.
  • Pull and assemble orders based on work / shipping orders or other documentation.
  • Tag materials for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
  • Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using a forklift, side loader, or crane.
  • Operate a yard truck for loading and unloading trailers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code.
  • Conduct spot checks on inventory, complete daily and ad hoc checks for proper tagging of materials as directed.
  • Report any irregularities to the supervisor for direction.
  • Restock materials.
  • Occasionally drive a motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School diploma / GED preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
  • Technical aptitude and basic knowledge of mechanics.
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical systems, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
  • Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multilimbed coordination.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Basic measurement skills, including conversions and math computations.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for calculating and converting decimals and fractions.
  • Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Sound decision-making based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, internal customers, and vendors.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Trade school certification in electrical, HVAC, and / or plumbing preferred.

    Work Environment

    The facility is non-climate controlled, and employees must wear jeans or work pants. Shorts, sweats, or leggings are not allowed. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with the option for overtime, and flexibility is required for early starts and weekend work.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00 / hr.
