Job description

General Laborer For Concrete And Masonry Construction

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Laborer to assist with concrete and masonry construction projects. The role involves performing a variety of manual tasks essential to the preparation and completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects, including preparing surfaces for concrete.
  • Shovel concrete into the construction area.
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and securing the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Handle and store materials appropriately.
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials as needed.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Essential Skills

  • Some knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • 1+ years of experience in general labor, concrete construction, and commercial construction.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, forms, framing, construction equipment operation, blueprints, and tape measures.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

    Work Environment

    You will be working both indoors and outdoors, across various departments and weather conditions. The role requires you to be on your feet for extended durations, walking on uneven terrain, and lifting up to 75 lbs. You will be expected to wear steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses at all times.

    This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, Kansas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00 / hr.
