Community Outreach and Policy Advocacy Coordinator
The Association for Nonsmokers - Minnesota (www.ansrmn.org), ANSR, seeks a team player with public health, policy or community organizing experience to work on initiatives to promote commercial tobacco prevention policies to reduce youth use and support tobacco treatment best practices.

Position responsibilities
This position will work on commercial tobacco point of sale community outreach and policy advocacy. This includes engaging local communities to enact policies to restrict the sale of flavored tobacco, reduce the environmental impacts of cigarettes and vape waste, and set minimum prices and end the use of price discounting for tobacco products. This position will lead or support community outreach strategies, assist with educational and outreach activities at the city and county levels, collaborate with youth and diverse communities, manage subcontracts with community partners, carry out communications strategies including the creation of materials such as factsheets and newsletters, complete supportive research tasks such as reviewing agendas and tracking social media and marketing, support compliance checks of tobacco retailers, and other tasks as needed. This position will allow the individual to take leadership roles and also require some administrative duties.
Qualifications
There will be occasional evening and weekend work, and access to a car is a requirement.
This position includes a variety of work, so each day will be somewhat different from the day before. An energetic, motivated self-starter will find this position rewarding and a good fit.
Salary :
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) grant-funded position. Salary range is $56,000 - $60,000 plus a comprehensive and generous benefits package, as detailed above.
