Overview :
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking new graduate Registered Nurses (RN) to be a part of the Surgical Specialty - Medical / Surgical Adult Health Rotation Team (AHEART).
This position is weekend / day shifts 36 hours per week.
Requirements :
New Graduate Registered Nurse
Active RN License
All Surgical units at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital participate in the Adult Health Rotation "AHeart" program. As a new nurse you will rotate Surgical Specialty units throughout the program.
The units will include :
General Surgical Unit, Inpatient Back, Neck and Spine Center,Burn TraumaMed / Surg, General Med / Surg units.
As a new grad you will be oriented successfully to work in each of these units. The Adult Surgical Specialty Rotation will give you a solid med / surgical foundation.
During your second year of the program, you may choose to join a med / surg unit that you have grown to love, be consider for a specialty unit or one of our internship programs. If you have a continuing interest in unit rotation you may also join the Sentara Resource Pool after 18 months in this program.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
