Job descriptionProvide 24-hour call coverage, addressing patient needs as they arise Attend all newborn deliveries and assist with C-sections Perform consults in the emergency department as needed Facilitate patient transfers and admit patients to the pediatric unit Department Beds : 6 Support Staff : 2 Registered Nurses (RNs) per shift; no supervision of advanced practice providers required On-Site Resources : Specialty skills in neonatal and pediatric ventilation management, sedation, central line insertion, and more as needed for comprehensive pediatric care Board Certification : Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics Licensure : Active Virginia license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility Certifications : PALS and NRP required; ACLS, ABLS, and ATLS not required Skills Required : Proficiency in various pediatric procedures, including : Intubation (ETT / NT for newborn and pediatric patients) Sedation (conscious and deep sedation) Central line, arterial line, UVC, and UAC placements Basic minor procedures such as lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, and suturing Nearby Airport and Lodging : Travel and lodging options are conveniently accessible Insurance : Provided by the locum agency Emergency Privileging : Available for candidates with a clean background and active VA license
We have an immediate need for a skilled Pediatric Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in a healthcare facility near Brookneal, VA. This short-term assignment offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience while working with a supportive team in an inpatient setting.
Assignment Highlights :
- Location : Near Brookneal, Virginia
- Assignment Duration : October 31, 2024 - November 5, 2024
- Coverage Type : Call-only, with 24-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 AM)
