Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced emergency care environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and strong clinical judgment with minimal supervision.
The ED RN will triage all incoming patients safely and accurately, prioritize care based on clinical needs, communicate effectively with physicians, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Promote the mission, vision, and values of Roosevelt General HospitalProvide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust nursing processes as neededPerform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on patients of all ages (neonatal to geriatric)Assess, plan, implement, and educate patients / families on care plans and pain managementMonitor and interpret hemodynamic statusDemonstrate strong cardiac monitoring skills; identify and treat dysrhythmiasAccurately assign triage categoriesMaintain accurate patient documentation including histories, assessments, treatments, and responsesRespect and address psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and familiesServe as liaison between patients, physicians, administration, and healthcare teamDemonstrate age-specific care skillsDevelop and evaluate patient teaching plansMaintain knowledge of medications and correct administration techniquesPrepare, administer, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids, medications, and blood productsAdhere to departmental policies, safety guidelines, performance improvement standards, and infection control practicesMaintain a safe and therapeutic environmentEnsure adequate supply levels and equipment functionalityAssist in cost control through appropriate supply managementCollaborate with team members to meet departmental goalsAssist physicians with ED proceduresProvide leadership, train new staff, and guide temporary employeesParticipate in education programs, in-services, and ongoing professional developmentNon-Essential Functions
