COMPENSATION : $74,604 - $89,525, Home Office Grade 7(Grant funded)

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Director of Family Engagement with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
To put it simply, you will create a culture of family engagement at YES Prep by creating opportunities that empower, educate, and involve our YES Prep families. As part of this role, you will lead YES Prep’s new Todos Families United effort.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include :
Acting as the Project Lead for the CSGF Todos Families United grant
Acting as the lead for grant administration : setting and driving project goals, developing strategies for increasing impact, tracking grant metrics, and completing reports for multiple funders and donors;Managing grant budget, ensuring appropriate and full utilization of grant funds within the 3-year grant period; handling the ordering and receiving of grant supplies as well as campus distribution of materials;Collaborating with grant partners (Charter School Growth Fund, Leadership for Educational Equity, The Texas Public Charter Schools Association) in order to ensure grant goals are met;Launching and leading a year of discovery around YES Prep families’ knowledge of civic systems and issue awareness;Maintaining regular data captures to measure year over year changes, the effectiveness of family engagement strategies, and the Todos Families United grant;Planning an annual summit for 300 Houston area charter school families that invites families from charter schools across Houston and involves community partners and leaders;Leading additional work as necessary to hit the grant goals outlined in the application .Creating and guiding YES Prep’s parent and family engagement strategy
Generating strategies to address system level issues through family engagement that is aligned with organizational objectives;Sourcing and managing vendor relationships to audit YES Prep’s family engagement work and compliance on a campus-by-campus basis;Creating campus resource guides around parent and family engagement, leading trainings around implementation, and hosting regular technical assistance meetings and / or office hours for campus staff;Supervising and supporting the Manager of Family Engagement in ensuring YES Prep follows Title 1 requirements related to family engagement and in leading the “Family Fellows;”Supporting YES Prep teams that are working to increase student persistence year over year by developing strategies grounded in family engagement and overseeing the implementation of the strategies;Participating in various working groups to lead the family efforts for systemwide efforts e.g., 8th / 9th Grade Strategy, ADA, Senior Signing Day;Creating strategies around data capture and utilization to meet parent family engagement goals; efforts include leading and / or being involved in POSSIP, Todos Families United surveys, empathy interviews, and focus groups for Todos Families United participants.Additional duties as assigned.

Bilingual in SpanishBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college in education, social work, public health or another relevant field7+ years of professional experience needed in this role, specifically in family organization, engagement and empowermentExperience writing grant proposals, meeting grant requirements, and grant reportingExperience managing a teamExperience setting and managing a budgetAbility to work outside of normal hours and on weekends. Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and an optional 457b Retirement Plan.Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar .Paid Leave Programming – In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.Professional Development - YES Prep values longevity and performance over time.
