Welding Supervisor
As a Welding Supervisor, you will report directly to the Plant Manager. Your primary role will be to oversee and support all TIG welding and final assembly activities in the final assembly department. You will manage a team of 10 welders, ensuring that production goals are met daily. You will be responsible for fabricating pieces together, focusing primarily on horizontal TIG welding, with some MIG welding required.
Responsibilities
Oversee and support TIG welding and final assembly operations.
Manage and lead a team of 10 welders in the final assembly department.
Conduct 95% TIG welding and 5% MIG welding.
Use hand tools such as angle grinders and sanders to finish rough edges on stainless steel or aluminum.
Operate machinery including tube benders, drill presses, and saws to create necessary parts.
Read and interpret blueprints for short-run production, ensuring client-specific requirements are met.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of TIG stainless steel experience, with a focus on very thin 14 gauge material.
Minimum of 3 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, with a strong understanding of blueprint symbols and tolerances.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team of 10 welders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in fabrication and assembly.
Familiarity with machine shop tools such as lathes, Bridgeport, saws, and grinders.
Experience in pipefitting.
MIG welding skills.

Work Environment
We are a leading manufacturer and assembler of pathology, histology, necropsy, and morgue equipment. Our facility is clean, organized, and includes multiple departments like Engineering, Machining, Welding, Metal Finishing, and Shipping / Receiving. Our team consists of 84 employees, with 10 welders forming the core of the welding group. We require working attire with welding helmets, gloves, and steel toe boots. We are dedicated to crafting client-specific designs and delivering quality products under one roof.

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison Heights, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00 / yr. Direct hire, great insurance and benefits, PTO, 401k, medical, dental, vision.

This is a fully onsite position in Madison Heights, MI.
