Nursing Assistant - 5th Floor Surgical Telemetry

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include :

• Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care, and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
