Job Title : Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Salary : $115,000-$145,000+ 10% Bonus
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's organization in the Itasca, IL area.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the development, design, and validation of manufacturing and assembly processes using 3D solid-modeling, CAD, and FEA, with a focus on safety, ergonomics, and lean concepts
- Provide expertise in grinding machines, including operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operations, especially related to grinding applications
- Support machinists on the shop floor to ensure optimal use of grinding equipment
- Diagnose and resolve issues specific to grinding processes and machinery
- Analyze and optimize grinding techniques to improve efficiency, precision, and product quality
- Ensure manufacturing processes accommodate final machining to achieve geometrical tolerances
- Develop control plans and inspection methods
- Define materials, tooling, fixturing, adhesives, and methods of manufacturing, ensuring safety and quality
- Create high-quality standard work to reduce human error
- Apply GD&T to designs and component drawings
- Collaborate with CNC programmers and machine operators to develop manufacturing processes
- Work with various departments on safety observations, PFMEA, cost reductions, ECR's / ECN's, DMR's, and part obsolescence
- Continuously improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and throughput by enhancing designs, fixturing, and processes
- Communicate manufacturing expertise to suppliers, customers, design engineering, quality, operations, purchasing, and sales
- Meet personal and department engineering KPIs and investigate root causes when KPIs are not met
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 8 years in a lead role in the manufacturing environmentProven record of successful launch of new process introduction and planning efficient manufacturing processesExperience in managing cost reduction and continuous improvement initiativesStrong 3D CAD skills with at least 2,000 hours of experience on Solidworks, ProE, or other 3D packagesStrong drafting and GD&T skills with the ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysisAdvanced understanding and application of quality concepts (Six Sigma Green Belt preferred)Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and electronic methodsBenefits :
