This Correctional Support Licensed Trades Supervisor III (CSLTS III) is the Master Plumber for the Denver Correctional Complex. Responsibilities include but are not limited to : providing supervision of assigned staff; ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient and effective repair and maintenance of facility plumbing equipment / systems; ensuring the safety and security of the public, staff and inmates. This position promotes the Colorado Department of Corrections Mission, Vision and Value Statement with integrity and commitment.
This position is the Master of Record for the facility, utilizing Master license to secure permits from the State Plumbing Board and serving as liaison with the State Plumbing Inspector. Within its area of responsibility, position procures all required registrations, certifications and permit and inspects work progress, processes and quality to ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulations, standards and guidelines.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
This position may participate in the Duty Officer rotation; is subject to facility call back or working additional hours / shifts to maintain safety and security; may be required to supervise additional staff in the absence of another supervisor, work outside during inclement weather, in high, tight, or confined spaces and / or in close proximity to industrial equipment. Position is subject to call back and working additional hours and / or shifts to maintain safe and secure operations and to respond to emergency equipment problems or failures. Position requires the ability to climb ladders, work in high, tight and / or confined spaces and the ability to quickly respond to emergency situations such as inmate fights, escapes, or facility fire.

Minimum Qualifications :
Experience must be clearly described within the work history and job duties section of your application to meet this requirement. Please note that any work experience less than full time will be prorated.
License - Active Master Plumber License in good standing through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). A copy of your license must be attached.
Certification - Back flow, domestic and wastewater operator (class D). Have or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Experience -Six (6) years of employment as a plumber, performing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance on residential or commercial facilities. At least one (1) of the six years must include Boiler Operations maintenance and repair.
Substitutions - Successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program or degree through an accredited, non- correspondence vocational or trade school that resulted in demonstrated competencies equivalent to those learned through the required experience may substitute for experience on a year for year basis. Please attach transcripts if you are using this substitution. Transcripts must include the name of the institution, your student ID #, a listing of the course curriculum, the degree earned and the date awarded.
