ABOUT THE POSITION :
The Territory Manager, Expansion Market is responsible for driving growth in emerging or underdeveloped geographic territories. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, generating demand, and converting prospects into active, repeat-ordering customers.
Working in close collaboration with the Business Development Representative, the Territory Manager schedules and supports in-person meetings, manages early-stage relationship building, and ensures a smooth onboarding experience for new accounts. As the territory matures, the role transitions into a traditional Territory Manager position with full ownership of sales performance, profitability, and customer retention.
The Territory Manager collaborates closely with the assigned Business Development Territory Manager to schedule in-person meetings, support onboarding, and ensure seamless customer experience. Candidate must reside within established territory lines and be able to work a flexible schedule Monday thru Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prospecting & Market Expansion
Research and identify high-potential veterinary clinics and businesses within emerging or underdeveloped territories.Drive outbound outreach (calls, emails, digital messaging) to generate interest and schedule in-person meetings.Educate prospects on the company’s value proposition and full product portfolio, emphasizing the benefits of direct purchasing.Partner with the Business Development Representative to execute targeted, territory-specific growth strategies.New Account Onboarding & Early Sales Momentum
Support the onboarding process for new customers to ensure a strong start and seamless transition from prospect to active account.Drive consistent ordering behavior post-onboarding, reinforcing the value proposition and identifying upsell opportunities.Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, onboarding progress, and order activity in the ERP / CRM system.Territory Collaboration & Strategic Feedback
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure effective planning, scheduling, and customer follow-up.Provide timely feedback on market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to Leadership to help shape strategic decisions.Ensure all outreach and communication reflects brand standards and supports relationship-buildingKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
New Account Acquisition : Achieve the designated number of new active ordering accounts per month.In-Person Visits : Complete the targeted number of in-clinic visits per month, supported by consistent phone and digital outreach.Meeting Conversion Rate : Maintain strong conversion from initial outreach to scheduled in-clinic meetings.First Order & Repeat Ordering : Ensure first orders occur within the designated timeframe form initial contact; driving toward the target number of new-account ordering consistently.Customer Sales, Profit & Market Share Growth : Demonstrate steady increases in active accounts, revenue, and profit across the territory.ERP / CRM Utilization : Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records and activity tracking.Sales Communication Quality : Deliver clear, persuasive, brand-aligned, and customer-focused messaging across all channels.Proactive Demand Creation : Demonstrate the ability to uncover customer needs, create urgency, and generate new demand.Collaboration Effectiveness : Work seamlessly with team members to support sales initiatives and maximize conversion.Customer Engagement & Rapport : Build strong relationships that lead to trust, loyalty, and long-term purchasing behavior; measured through client feedback and retention trends.Adaptability & Initiative : Take ownership, demonstrate resourcefulness, and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.QUALIFICATIONS :
B2B outside sales experience, preferable in animal healthExcellent interpersonal, presentation, and organization skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong negotiation and relationship-building skillsSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and ability to work independently in a remote environmentBachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, TeamsA valid driver’s license requiredAbility to travel for client meeting, trade shows, and other events as neededBase salary plus commissions / bonuses averages gross earnings $60,000 - $100,000 annually. Additional car allowance and monthly expense account is provided.
