About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : Night 3x12-Hour and Day 3x12-Hour

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department; Pediatric Emergency Department experience preferred

License : Must hold valid RN license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, MAB, PALS

Must-Have :

• No request for time off preferred, maximum 7 days allowed if absolutely needed
• Must work holidays
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Weekends required

Description :

Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse position available with variable shift times of 0700, 1100, 1400, or 1900.

The Pediatric Emergency Department cares for patients up to 25 years of age.

Last year, the department saw over 116,000 pediatric visits.

During winter months, the department averages over 400 visits daily.

This position requires the ability to manage a high volume of patients.

Registered Nurses will run their own codes internally.

ED technicians are available to support nurses, with one assigned to each nurse and additional technicians in triage.

Staff involved will include interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.

Candidates must have experience with various pediatric emergencies, including acute psychosis, airway obstruction, anaphylactic shock, and more.

Candidates must also have skills in procedures such as IV insertion, medication administration, and pediatric dosage calculations.

The role requires flexible weekend coverage as shift times may vary.

Call requirements are not applicable.

No floating between units is required for this position.
