Job Summary

The Building Systems Technician is responsible for daily operation, preventative and corrective maintenance on system-wide power plant and HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, fire alarms, pneumatic tube systems, and sprinkler systems. This role involves troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various medical and non-medical equipment and building systems such as electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other mechanical systems. The technician must work independently with minimal supervision, make quick and accurate decisions, and maintain excellent communication with customers and supervisors to ensure high-quality patient care and customer satisfaction. The role encourages teamwork within Supply Chain Support Services and promotes a culture of service excellence.

  • Operate Power Plant systems, HVAC systems, and other building systems. Document work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Repair, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot Power Plant, HVAC, and other building-related equipment to ensure uninterrupted service. Maintain and repair CFC systems safely and in compliance with industry standards, maintaining necessary certifications and licenses.
  • Conduct daily inspections of boilers, pipelines, high and low-pressure vessels, meters, gauges, and other systems. Adjust and operate equipment to maintain efficiency and meet occupant demands.
  • Maintain technical expertise in system operation and maintenance, ensuring safety, code compliance, and operational efficiency. Treat open and closed-loop systems chemically to protect equipment cost-effectively.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests, resolving issues to high satisfaction.
  • Assist colleagues with projects and maintenance of building systems and equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment such as lighting, beds, nurse call systems, sinks, and more. Perform general maintenance duties.
  • Stay current with laws, regulations, standards, and codes related to Power Plants and HVAC systems. Provide training to others for light maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of 3 years experience in troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC and power plant equipment.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Driver's License required.
