The Director of Pharmacy Operations will lead end-to-end pharmacy operations. This includes leading continued rapid organic growth, increased credentialing / licensing, and implementing operational processes for scaled, sustainable success. Covers specialty and infusion medications, including Home Infusion and through the company’s 50+ infusion centers. Ensure all performed with the highest standard of patient care and regulatory compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership :
- Provide strategic view and tactical plan for execution business priorities (e.g., organic growth levers, expanded credentialing, expanded payor access and contracts). Communication plan, timeline, resource needs, etc. Track and share progress on executed plan.
- Recruit, train, lead and coach members of the Pharmacy team. Foster a culture of performance, inclusivity and respect.
Operations :
Set, measure and achieve key pharmacy performance metrics, including growth, operational effectiveness and financial goals. Execute changes as required to meet targets (individual performance, staffing, tools, workflow, etc)Remain in the day-to-day workflow with the team, including personally processing scripts and patients as needed. Stay current on all workflows, operational pain points and opportunities.Serve as Pharmacist in Charge where appropriate.Patient Care & Services :
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered pharmacy services. Collaborate with clinical teams to provide comprehensive medication management, patient education and patient care.Oversee the coordination of home infusion services, including medication, supplies, and equipment.Additional responsibilities :
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant changes to regulations; implement internal updates and educate others as needed to maintain compliance.Support requirements to obtain or sustain third-party accreditations (e.g., ACHC) or reporting requirements for payor contracts.Implement best practices for inventory management, medication safety, and quality assurance.Develop and implement policies and procedures where required.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.Current pharmacist license in good standing with the state of operation.Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmacy operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.Experience with medication counseling, drug and medical supply procurement, inventory control, risk management, quality assurance, and third-party reimbursement.Experience in specialty pharmacy and / or home infusion services preferred.Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety, and quality assurance.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence.
