Senior Quality Engineer

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team located in New Orleans LA!

This position requires a Bachelors degree in one of the following relevant fields of study :

  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology)
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Position Responsibilities :

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develops and selects methods for analysis testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under minimal direction.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An Interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study
  • 5 years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 5 years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis data collection preparation and interpretation
  • 5 years of experience with quality Inspection and / or auditing
  • 5 years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 1 year of experience leading or managing projects / initiatives
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

  • 3 years experience in aerospace fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Travel :

    This position may require up to 25% travel.

    This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

    Security Clearance :

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and / or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
